Global Health Sciences (GHS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal devoted to publishing transformative, multi-disciplinary research addressing planetary health challenges, health equity, public health systems, and disease prevention strategies. In an interconnected world characterized by demographic shifts, emerging infectious threats, environmental degradation, and health disparities, GHS provides a global platform for scholars, epidemiologists, policymakers, and health practitioners. The journal emphasizes population-level health research, global health governance, and evidence-based interventions tailored for diverse socio-economic and regional contexts.

Scope and Topics

GHS publishes high-impact empirical investigations, systematic reviews, health economics evaluations, and policy analyses. Key thematic areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Epidemiology & Infectious Disease Control: Global disease surveillance, outbreak preparedness, tropical and neglected diseases, vector-borne diseases, and vaccination policies.

  • Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) & Mental Health: Global burden of cardiovascular diseases, oncology, metabolic disorders, and population-wide mental health interventions.

  • Planetary Health & Environmental Systems: Climate change impacts on public health, environmental toxicology, One Health frameworks, water sanitation, and sustainable health systems.

  • Health Systems, Policy & Equity: Universal health coverage (UHC), health infrastructure optimization, healthcare financing, resource allocation in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), and global health ethics.

  • Maternal, Child & Population Health: Reproductive health rights, neonatal care, adolescent health, nutritional epidemiology, and demographic health surveys.

Publication Frequency

Global Health Sciences (GHS) is published quarterly (4 issues per year: March, June, September, and December), operating on a continuous publishing framework to facilitate swift dissemination of critical health research.

Peer Review Process

GHS adheres to a rigorous double-anonymous peer review system to uphold research ethics and methodological credibility. Every manuscript undergoes a mandatory desk review by the executive editor to verify alignment with global health research guidelines (e.g., STROBE, PRISMA, CHEERS) and ethical protocols. Manuscripts passing the initial gate are assessed by at least two independent international experts. Peer review evaluates epidemiological design, statistical validity, policy implications, and potential for scalable public health impact.
